After graduating from university Lorraine enrolled into the “university of the world”, living and working abroad. During her travels she discovered her love for yoga and the outdoors, and met many influential people who guided her to the healing arts. Lorraine received her first massage therapy diploma in Australia in 2008. After her travels, she returned to Canada to fine-tune her education in massage therapy at Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching clinic and became a Registered Massage Therapist in Ontario in 2012. Since then, Lorraine has worked in a variety of settings, including spas, gyms, on-site mobile events, and multidisciplinary clinics. Her preferred is the latter, where she can collaborate with other practitioners to offer the most comprehensive treatment plan for her clients health goals.
As a result of her travels Lorraine has been influenced by both western and eastern approaches to wellness and healing. The influence of yoga is apparent in her style, often using dynamic movement in her treatment and maintaining a steady flow and rhythm at all times. Her style is a fusion of Swedish, deep tissue, sport & stretch techniques. Depth can be customized to the client's request, while honouring her vow to "do no harm" during the process.
Lorraine started her solo practice in Cobourg in 2020, and has developed a busy practice - thanks to her loyal clientele. She loves the Northumberland region and hopes to remain for many years to come.
* Lorraine is identified with the CMTO using her full legal name “Jessie Lorraine Chretien”, however she can be addressed by her middle name. Noteworthy when submitting insurance claims, and can be found on the public register (click here).
